Dementia
Dementia is a condition that can cause memory loss and other problems with thinking that get worse with time. These problems can make it hard for an individual to complete daily tasks such as managing medications, paying bills, solving problems, or planning their day.
Our speech-language pathologists can test and treat speech, language, and thinking skills as well as eating and swallowing difficulties associated with dementia. There is no cure for dementia and it does get worse with time, but treatment can help.
Our goal is to help our clients maximize their independence for as long as possible by working with them on memory, attention, problem solving, communication, and higher-level thinking skills. We are committed to working with families and caregivers to empower them to communicate more effectively with their loved one with dementia.
